Our Holiday Hubs were a massive success with over 30 female cricketers taking part across the two weeks...
The future of cricket in Canterbury looks bright if the calibre of talent on display across the Holiday Hubs is anything to go by!
Our Bowling, Power Hitting and T20 Innovation sessions sold out quickly and our participants were so willing to try new concepts and skills and have some fun while doing so. Thanks must go to Frankie Mackay and Laura Hughes for their time and expertise across the programme. A valuable experience for our up and coming players to gain knowledge and skills from two very accomplished cricketers.
Whilst the morning groups were small the groups were fun to work with and play around with some new skills. We had a great time exploring diving and rolling and getting comfortable with the ground as well as batting and bowling skill development.
A big piece for me was helping participants untrain some very ingrained skills and we had some massive wins across the two weeks with this, especially with players hopping on approach to the bowling crease. Whilst on the whole this was an easy fix there appears to be a massive need for more coach education around how to help young players remedy this, early, and take the strain off their back, hips and knees.
Thank you to all those who joined us, the feedback has been really positive and I'm excited to see what the Winter brings. TRC Coaching will be working in the background to futher develop the Holiday Hubs, especially with the specialist skills sessions, and provide more players with the opportunity to try new things and hone their craft.
